Did anyone else have a Fortnite rival like @Geek12400?

I played Fortnite constantly in 2017–2018, and @Geek12400 was the player who seemed to ruin every other battle for me. He always showed up with what looked like premium or limited skins, so I was convinced he was 100% a spender. More importantly, he was brutally good and, at least from my perspective, unbelievably toxic—emoting after every elimination and making every encounter feel personal. I got so tilted by one match that I actually broke my keyboard. I can’t verify any of this beyond my own memory, but that was my impression at the time. Did anyone else ever have a rivalry that intense with a toxic spender in an online game?

Seeing premium cosmetics can suggest that someone bought a pass or shop items, but it cannot establish how much they spent—or whether they were actually toxic. Still, the keyboard story is painfully believable.

The old elimination-emote ritual could turn a normal match into a personal feud in about ten seconds. Sometimes the “pay-to-win” label was really just shorthand for “this person keeps beating me while looking expensive.”

I had plenty of players I disliked, but I’m not sure the spending caused the behavior. The cosmetics made the rivalry more memorable; the repeated losses did the real damage.

That is probably fair. In hindsight, the skins were evidence of cosmetics, not proof of spending or personality. At the time, though, every loss made the story feel more obvious.
